Note / Strength of Aroma: A top note of medium aroma, Citronella has a well-rounded lemony scent, though it is much softer and has subtle wood tones.

Citronella essential oil is one of the most common oils used in aromatherapy. It is said that as an aromatherapy oil, citronella can help with colds, fevers, and headaches.

As a massage oil, it may work in relieving pain in individuals suffering from arthritis. The oil of citronella is also widely used in fragrances and personal care products. Because of its antiseptic properties, citronella oil is also used in soaps, household cleaners, and detergents.

Here are some suggestions:

Bath

Put 3- 7 drops of Citronella oil in a warm bath to reduce swelling and pain. Fill the tub first with water then add the oil.

Diffuser

For people who can’t sleep. Try diffusing 2-3 drops Citronella oil in your diffuser.

Insect Repellent

You can combine several drops with coconut oil (carrier oil) and spread it on your body like lotion, or add some to a spray bottle with water and cover your skin, hair and clothes. Applying pure citronella oil directly to the body is considered more effective for fighting bugs than citronella candles are

Muscle & Joints

Combine (two to three) drops with a carrier oil like coconut oil and massage it into swollen joints, tissue and muscles.
