Oatmeal baths are good to help a variety of skin conditions from psoriasis to eczema, chicken pox, and poison ivy. Oatmeal can be moisturizing, soothing, and inflammation-relieving for the skin. We added baking soda which can soothe the inflamed skin and reduce irritation and itching. Lavender oil in an oatmeal bath is also helpful, as it is considering relaxing in aromatherapy. Plus, adding tea tree oil is beneficial, as it is antiseptic and antibacterial.

Ingredients and their benefits:
Colloidal Oatmeal: is used as it is a gentle exfoliate and has an abundance of skin-soothing properties.
Epson Salt: In water, it breaks down into magnesium and sulfate. Epsom salt bath gets into your body through your skin. That hasn't been proven, but just soaking in warm water can help relax muscles and loosen stiff joints as it reduces pain and swelling
Baking Soda: has antibacterial and antimicrobial properties that can help fight harmful bacteria.
Here are the essential oils:
Lavender: has a soothing antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties that make it valuable for many skin types.
Tree Tree: is ideal for treating bacterial and fungal skin conditions, which prevents infection and promotes healing.
How to Prepare an Oatmeal Bath
- Make sure the water is lukewarm, not hot.
- Sprinkle the recommended amount or 1/2 cup of your Lavender and Oatmeal bath mixture under running water as the tub fills.
- Soak for about 10-15 minutes.
- After the bath, gently pat yourself dry so your skin still feels damp.
