Heart Lotion Bar
This heart hard lotion bar is a solid moisturizer. Usually made out of natural ingredients and full of oils and butters. This lotion bar stays solid as long as it is kept at room temperature or lower. It is activated by body heat and can be used anywhere on the body. We added rose and geranium essential oils as it smells like roses but its oil has antibacterial qualities that help with skin irritations and infections.
Those who want to try a hard lotion might feel more comfortable doing so at night. Application is done right before bedtime. The benefit of applying a hard lotion before one sleeps is that the lotion has all night to penetrate the skin, and the wearer can wake up feeling soft and smooth.
Ingredients used and their benefits:
Coconut Oil: Helps to reduce redness and inflammation, evening out skin tones, and helping to squash breakouts. Beyond that, it's known for being an excellent moisturizer that sinks in quickly.
Shea Butter: has remarkable moisturizing and healing properties. Shea butter is proven to have antioxidant properties due to its tocopherol content.2 It has anti-inflammatory properties as well, thanks to the triterpene alcohols in it.
Beewax: can reinforce the skin’s natural barrier and offer additional protection from the environment. This also makes beeswax an efficient covering material for the already present water molecules within your skin and on top of it. That helps our skin retain its moisture and protects it from drying up.
Rose Essential Oil: is purported to hydrate dry skin, clear acne, reduce signs of aging, minimize the appearance of scars, and help with conditions such as eczema and rosacea.
Geranium Essential Oil: indicates that its antibacterial, antimicrobial, and antiseptic properties make it beneficial for reducing acne breakouts, skin irritation, and skin infections when applied topically.
Rose Petals: have a relaxing, calming scent. They can help to soothe a stressed, overthinking mind. If you’re feeling a bit low, pop the kettle on or pamper yourself with a rose petal beauty product and you may find the ingredient leaves you feeling more uplifted and comforted.
The way to use this hard lotion bar is to apply the bar directly to areas in need of moisturizing. The bar can be rubbed on these areas until it heats and softens and some lotion transfers to the skin. The friction from the rubbing, combined with the heat from the client's skin, can give good results. This method is popularly used on the heels or other especially dry or tough areas that could benefit from direct application.
Clients are encouraged to apply only light layers of lotion to an area. This is because, upon application, the lotion can feel as though it is greasy. Layers need to be given a few moments to absorb into the skin. After the lotion has successfully penetrated the skin, clients will know whether they need to use the lotion bar for a second application.
Those who want to moisturize their bodies simply can take the lotion bar into their hands and warm it with them. The heat emanating from their hands will melt a small portion of the bar. From there, users can rub the lotion onto the body part that needs moisturizing. Some who use lotion bars apply lotion only to their hands. Others, however, might use the bar to moisturize their feet, ankles, knees, legs, arms, elbows or any other area that has dry skin.
Heart Lotion Bars are made of coconut oil, shea butters and beewax so if you apply on the bottom of your feet, it might be slippery so be cautious when walking.
